About Miss Rapid City Scholarship Foundation


Welcome from The Miss Rapid City Scholarship Foundation. We were established as a local preliminary for the Miss South Dakota Scholarship Pageant, the state foundation that sends a representative to the Miss America Pageant. Our pageant is open to all girls throughout the state that live, go to school or work in South Dakota.

This local pageant is a preliminary event that will qualify the titleholder to participate in the Miss South Dakota Scholarship Pageant held in Hot Springs, SD in June 2016. The young lady chosen in Hot Springs moves on to compete in the Miss America Pageant.

(Contestants who compete on Saturday and don't win a title,
as well as titleholders who gave up titles on Saturday,
can compete on Sunday for the Miss Central States Fair or other titles.)

Divisions

We offer 2 competitive age divisions. Young women who meet the eligibility requirements for Miss America's Outstanding Teen and Miss divisions have the opportunity to be a part of our program. 
We also offer a non-competitive experience for girls who have not yet reached competition age.

 Miss (17 - 24 years of age)

Miss Rapid City, Miss Rushmore, Miss Badlands, Miss Black Hills Gold, and Miss Pasque - Open to female South Dakota residents that live, work, or attend school anywhere within South Dakota, and meetsthe age requirements outlined below.

Miss Central States Fair - Open to female South Dakota residents that live, work, or attend school anywhere within South Dakota, and meet the age requirements outlined below. In addition, you must be available for the entire week of the Central States Fair. This titleholder will have multiple appearances and responsibilities during the week of the Fair.

Age requirements: A contestant must be at least 17 years of age and a senior in high school. A contestant must remain 24 years of age or under through December 31, 2015. Note: If you are 17 and entering your junior year of high school in the fall, you will only be eligible for the OUTSTANDING TEEN program.

Teen (13 - 17 years of age)

Miss Rapid City's Outstanding Teen, Miss Rushmore's Outstanding Teen, Miss Badlands' Outstanding Teen, Miss Black Hills Gold's Outstanding Teen, and Miss Pasque's Outstanding Teen - Open to female South Dakota residents that live or attend school anywhere within South Dakota, and meet the age requirements outlined below. 

Age requirements: A contestant must be 13 to 17 years of age and NOT yet a high school senior to participate.

 Rising Stars (9 - 12 years of age)

The Rapid City Rising Stars Leadership program is a mentorship program designed to give girls a non-competitive opportunity to be involved in pageantry before they reach the age of official teen competition. - Open to female South Dakota residents that live or attend school anywhere within South Dakota, and meet the age requirements outlined below.

Age requirements: Girls between the ages of 9 to 12 years of age on the date of the pageant.

 Little Sisters (5 - 8 years of age)

The Little Sister program is a mentorship program that allows young girls to be involved in our program before they reach competition age.

Age requirements: Girls between the ages of 5 to 8 years of age on of the date of the pageant.
